ADAU LIFE

We only use biodegradable fabrics. And, ensure that all our fabrics live long-happy lives.

Our clothing is dyed in organic colours, obtained from various plants and their parts.

The detailing on our clothing, such as our buttons are all made from coconut husks or wood.

With every purchase of yours, we plant a sapling in your name.

Moreover, with every purchase of yours, we also send seeds as a gift so you can plant a sapling as well.

Our packaging is just as sustainable as charming.

We cultivate a fair-trade work.

Our mantra is to reuse and recycle, our office and factory all deploy vintage and upcycled furniture to maintain a circulatory system.

Fast-fashion relies on volume, which in turn means clothing that is produced from unethically sourced natural resources like conventional cotton which consumes 11% of the world’s pesticides and 24% of the world’s insecticides, even though cotton only uses 2.4% of total arable land. Fast-fashion also relies on using fabrics that are made from synthetic resources that are not recyclable or biodegradable. These synthetic fibres and dyes have adverse effects on our skin but also on marine life, where they are often dumped.

Impacts from the fashion industry include over 92 million tonnes of waste produced per year and 1.5 trillion litres of water consumed, alongside chemical pollution and high levels of CO2 emissions.

Sustainability is as much environmental as social and economic. It proposes using local, ethically used products that intercept with an economic model that pays fair trade wages. It also means using techniques that are traditional or local and employing artisans whose crafts can be re-fashioned for a contemporary market. Economic sustainability also means employing research and development for economic growth alongside environmental management. It constitutes efficient usage of energy and ways to generate the same from renewable resources.

Profit goes hand in hand with implementing renewable resources and a fair-trade work culture while crafting durable, recyclable clothing. Sustainable fashion is the future, which requires creativity and collaboration between designers, manufacturers and customers.
